LED Light Sheet RFQ Checklist: What to Send for an Accurate Quote

To get an accurate LED light sheet quote, send six things: the lit size and quantity, the face material, the cavity depth, the light color and control, the power and installation details, and a drawing or photo. With these, the factory can choose the right sheet, layout, drivers and controllers in one round instead of several emails.

Missing details are the main reason quotes change later. A price based on “about 2 m² of onyx” can double once the real cavity depth, cable route or control system is known.

Download the one-page RFQ checklist (PDF)
Print it or fill it in, then send it with your drawings through the quote form.

The checklist

1. Size and quantity

  • Visible (lit) size of each panel, in mm or inches: width × height
  • Number of panels, and whether they are all the same size
  • Shape: rectangle, curved, or a custom outline with cutouts
  • Frame, trim, returns or shadow gaps that hide part of the face
  • Total lit area, if known (the LED light sheet calculator can estimate it)

2. Face material

  • Material: onyx, marble, quartzite, agate, acrylic, resin or fabric
  • Thickness, and whether it is backed with resin, mesh or glass
  • A photo of the slab with a light behind it, if you can take one
  • Whether you can send an offcut for a free light test

3. Space behind the face

  • Cavity depth from the back of the face to the mounting surface (see how far the sheet should sit from the stone)
  • Mounting surface: wood, aluminum, stone, plasterboard
  • Any studs, frames or brackets inside the cavity
  • Whether a diffuser layer is planned

4. Light color and control

  • Single white (give the color temperature, e.g. 3000K or 4000K), tunable white, RGB, RGBW or RGBCCT
  • How it will be controlled: on/off, wall dimmer, remote, app, DALI, 0–10V or DMX
  • Whether several panels must be controlled together or separately

5. Power and installation

  • Preferred voltage: 12V or 24V (24V is the usual choice for larger surfaces)
  • Mains voltage in the project country: 110–120V or 220–240V
  • Where the drivers can go, and the cable distance from drivers to panels
  • Where cables exit each panel
  • Indoor dry, damp area, or outdoor

6. Project details

  • Project country and city
  • Required certificates (for example UL in North America, CE in Europe)
  • Target delivery date
  • Drawings: PDF or images, or a cloud link for DWG, DXF or RVT files

Extra notes for backlit stone projects

Quote the visible size, not the slab size. On stone walls, bar fronts and counters, frames, returns, seams, shadow gaps and cabinet structure often hide part of the slab. A 1200 × 2400 mm slab may only have 1100 × 2300 mm that actually glows. Lighting the hidden edges adds cost without adding light, so mark the visible area on the drawing.

Send the real stone, not only the rendering. Renderings show design intent but not how much light the stone lets through. A dark marble may need a denser sheet, more depth or a diffuser to look even, while a light onyx may not. Send a light-on and light-off photo of the actual slab, its thickness, and if possible an offcut for a test. See backlit onyx vs marble vs quartzite for how the stone type changes the layout.

Drawing tips that save a revision

  • Mark the lit area, not the overall furniture or wall size.
  • Show cable exits and driver locations. Long hidden cable runs cause voltage drop.
  • Note seams or joints in the face. Light sheet seams should not sit behind the most translucent areas.
  • Add one section drawing through the panel so the cavity depth is clear.

What you get back

With a complete RFQ, the JJS engineering team returns a preliminary layout (sheet type, cut plan and quantity), the power supply and controller selection with wiring zones, and a quotation, usually within 1–2 working days. For stone projects, we recommend testing a sample behind your actual slab before you confirm the order. Samples are charged and usually arrive in 7–10 days, including shipping.

How to send it

Use the project quote form. It takes PDF, JPG, PNG and WEBP files (up to 3 files, 20 MB each). For DWG, DXF, RVT or larger files, paste a cloud sharing link in the CAD link field. If you are not ready with drawings, send the size, material and quantity first; the rest can follow.

FAQ

Can I get a quote without drawings?

Yes. Size, material, quantity and project country are enough for a budget price. Drawings are needed for a final layout.

Do I need to know the wattage?

No. Send the size and light color; the factory calculates wattage and driver size.

Can I send a stone sample?

Yes. A light test behind your real stone is the most reliable way to confirm brightness and evenness.

What file formats can I send?

PDF and images through the form; DWG, DXF, RVT and large files as a cloud link.

How long does a sample take?

Samples are charged and usually arrive in 7–10 days, including shipping.
