Project Images and Application References

A translucent stone backlighting quote should not be based on size alone. Designers and contractors should provide visible dimensions, stone details, cavity depth, control requirements, power location, and service access so the LED sheet layout can be built, installed, and maintained correctly.
If the only message is ‘please quote a 1200 x 2400 mm backlit stone wall,’ the supplier can only guess. That outside dimension does not explain stone transmittance, trim overlap, hidden edges, seams, cable exits, or how the client expects the finished stone to glow.
Information Needed for a Useful Quote
| Information | Why it matters | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Visible illuminated size | Determines active light coverage | Stone face minus hidden frame and trim |
| Stone type and thickness | Affects brightness and uniformity | Onyx, marble, agate, quartzite, resin stone |
| Stone photos or samples | Shows color, veins, and transmittance | Light-on and light-off photos |
| Cavity depth | Controls dot hiding and diffusion | 30 mm, 50 mm, or deeper |
| Power location | Affects cable length and voltage drop | Top access, side cabinet, remote driver box |
| Control method | Changes sheet, controller, and wiring | Single white, CCT, RGBW, dimming, smart control |
Visible Size vs Outside Size
For stone walls and counters, the outside slab size is not always the same as the illuminated size. Frames, returns, seams, shadow gaps, and cabinet structure may hide part of the lighting area. A quote should use the visible illuminated area first, then round the LED sheet layout according to safe cutting units and panel coverage.
Use the LED light sheet calculator for an early estimate, then review how many LED light sheets are needed to understand why layout drawings matter.
Send Material Evidence, Not Only Renderings
Renderings are useful for design intent, but they do not show real stone transmission. A dark slab may need more output or may not achieve the same even glow as a light onyx sample. Send actual stone photos, thickness, and if possible a light test. This helps choose LED sheet density, cavity depth, and whether a diffuser layer is needed.
For project-specific stone guidance, see LED light sheet for backlit stone and stone thickness and cavity depth planning.
Quote-Ready Checklist
- Finished outside dimensions and visible illuminated dimensions
- Stone material, thickness, photos, and sample availability
- Available cavity depth and structure drawing
- Frame, trim, and hidden edge details
- Power supply location and cable exit direction
- Dimming, CCT, RGBW, or smart-control requirement
- Project quantity, installation country, and expected lead time
Once these items are ready, submit them through the LED light sheet quote request page. A complete RFQ saves time because the supplier can respond with a buildable layout instead of a vague square-meter price.
