How to Backlight Onyx Without Hot Spots
Backlit onyx projects usually fail for one reason: the stone looks expensive, but the light behind it is uneven. Visible LED dots, dark corners, weak edges, and driver problems can ruin a bar counter, reception wall, bathroom feature wall, or hotel interior. LED light sheets help create a more uniform luminous surface behind translucent stone than loose LED strip layouts.

LED Sheet vs LED Strip for Onyx
LED strips can work when the cavity is deep enough and the diffuser distance is generous. For shallow cabinets or premium stone, a full-surface LED sheet is often easier to plan because the light source is distributed across the panel. This reduces the risk of hot spots and makes the wiring layout cleaner for installers.
